THE LOW ENERGY RESONANCES IN THE P$sup 31$(p,$gamma$)S$sup 32$ NUCLEAR REACTION

Journal Article · · Nuclear Physics (Netherlands) Divided into Nucl. Phys. A and Nucl. Phys. B
The gamma -radiation of the first three resonances (E/sub p/ = 355, 440, and 540 kev) in the P/sup 31/(p, gamma )S/sup 32/ nuclear reaction has been investigated. The angular distribution recorded for the 9Mev gamma radiation enabled spin and parity assignments of 1 plus or minus to be made for the resonances both at the 9.185 and the 9 9.267 Mev levels. Analysis of the angular distribution of the 7-Mev radiation and of the angular correlation between the latter and the 2-Mev radiation shows that spin and parity of 2/sup +/ can be assigned to the 9.367-Mev level.
