GALVANOMETRIC PROPERTIES OF Tb, Dy, AND Ho (in Russian)

Journal Article · · Fiz. Metal. i Metalloved
OSTI ID:4753997
Electric and galvanometric properties of Tb, Dy, and Ho were measured at temperatures of ferromagneticantiferromagnetic theta /sub 1/ and antiferromagnetic-paramagnetic theta /sub 2/ transition points. A negative galvanometric maximum, resulting from pair processes, was observed near the theta /sub 2/ points and the longitudinal and transverse negative galvanometric effect maximum for Dy was found near theta /sub 1/ = 85 deg K. The temperature dependence oi the Tb isothermal dip, (1/R) ( DELTA R/ DELTA H), exhibits a maximum at theta /sub 1/ = 224 deg K and theta /sub 2/ = 232 deg K, confirming the postulation on the presence of an antiferromagnetic state in terbium at 224 and 232 deg K.
