Progress is reported in studies on the concentration of natural and radioactive Sr by the marine plankton Acantharia. Procedures are outlined for the radiochemical analysis of plankton. Results are reported from the analysis of samples collected in the Tyrrhenian Sea and in the Adriatic Sea. The ecology of Acantharia in relation to the concentration of Sr in sea water is discussed.
