A CONTINUOUS FLOW BETA SCINTILLATION DETECTOR FOR AQUEOUS SOLUTIONS

Journal Article · · Canadian Journal of Chemistry
DOI:https://doi.org/10.1139/v62-358· OSTI ID:4748335
Counting of beta emitters in aqueous solutions was carried out with a detector whose detecting element is 1 packed column of a finely divided plastic scintillator. The efficiencies under practical operating conditions for C¹⁴ , Sr⁹⁰--Y⁹⁰, and K⁴⁰ are 36, 74, and 82% at backgrounds of 27 plus or minus 2 cpm. (auth)
