A target of metallic titanium, enriched to 59% Ti/sup 50, was bombarded with 30-Mev nitrogen ions. The area under the 1.58-Mev gamma peak was estimated in order to calculate a value of 0.040 x 10/sup -48/ e/sup 2/ cm/ sup 4/ for the first excited level in Ti/sup 50/. The lifetime of this state was 1.03 x 10/sup -12/ sec. On /, it observed that on going from Ti/sup 46/ to Ti/ sup 50/ the number of neutrons increases from 26 to 28, and the energy of the first level increases sharply from 0.99 Mev in Ti/sup 48/ to 1.58 Mev in Ti/sup 50/, while the value of B(E2) drops sharply from 0.070 for Ti/sup 48/ to 0.040 x 10/sup -48/ e/sup 2/ cm/sup 4/ for Ti/sup 50/.
