THE POSITRON SPECTRUM OF Ag$sup 11$$sup 0$ (in Russian)

A pure metallic silver target (99.99% purity) was irradiated with slow neutrons. The Al backing was removed by NaOH, and the positron spectrum of the Ag/sup 110/ activity was investigated on a double-focusing BETA spectrometer. The positron spectrum was complex in form. Most of the positrons are due to internal conversion with the formation of pairs of gamma quanta with energies of 1380, 1480, 1500, 1560, 1780, and 1930 kev. In separating out the partial components of the spectrum, it was assumed that the energy distribution of the positrons can be caIculated by a Schroedinger approximation. The relative intensity of the positron components in Cd/sup 110/ was determined by comparison with internal conversion electrons of known intensities. The multipolarities of the three most intense transitions at 1380, 1480, and 1500 kev were determined from the ratio of the coefficients of pair conversion G/sub p/ and of electron conversion at the Kshell. The 1380 and 1480 kev transitions are quadrupole with a possibility of a E2 + M1 mixture for the 1380 kev transition. The multipolarity of the 1500 Mev transition is an E2 + M1 mixture. (TTT)
