INTERNAL CONVERSION WITH PAIR FORMATION DURING THE DECAY OF As$sup 7$$sup 6$ (in Russian)
As/sub 2/O/sub 3/ was irradiated with thermai neutrons, and mounted on an Al foil 5 thick for counting on a double-focusing spectrometer having an efficiency of 1.2% of 4 ceramic materia , and a resolution of ontrol migra- 1.2%. The area of the source was 10 x 30 mm, and its thickness was 2 to 3 mg cm/ sup -2/. The spectrum has a complex form due to internal conversion positrons with pair formation at transitions having energies of 1230, 1500, tions were not previously reported. The number of positrons per disintegration was found to be 1.1 x 10/sup -5/. The positron spectrum was resolved into its five component parts, and the energies and intensities of the positron components were determined. The multipolarities of the transitions were determined by comparing the calculated and experimental values of the pair conversion coefficient. The transitions at 1230, 1795 and 2115 kev are quadrupole transitions of type E2. (TTT)
