The performance of Li-drifted p/sup +/-i-n/sup +/ diode detectors, which have thin dead layers and deep sensitive volumes, is described for beta, x-ray, and gamma spectrometry at energies below 100 kev. The use of these detectors in measurements of the electron and photon spectra of Bi/sup 207/, Pb/sup 207/, and Cs/sup 137/ is shown. (T.F.H.)
