Magnetic effects of a high-altitude nuclear explosion

The results of two magnetometer recordings of the geomagnetic disturbance caused by the July 9, 1962, thermonuclear explosion at 200 km over Johnston Island are presented. A comparison is made with recordings of the 1959 Teak and Orange shots.
