HOMOGENEOUS BOILING REACTOR
A homogeneous nuclear reactor comprises an aqueous suspension of nuclear fuel in a casing placed within a pressure vessel, so that the outer wall of this casing and the inner wail of the pressure vessel form between them an annular interspace which is partially filled with water forming the reflector for the homogeneous reactor core. The casing is open at its top and communicates with the annular interspace via the upper region within the pressure vessel. The steam formed in the boiling reactor core rises in the pressure vessel, passing liquid-steam separating baffles, and leaves the pressure vessel at its top. This steam passes a heat exchanger where it is condensed. The condensed steam feeds the annular interspace which at its bottom is in communication with the bottom of the reactor core casing. (IIB)
