THE SCATTERING OF 29 Mev $sup 3$He-PARTICLES BY C, F, S AND Br NUCLEI
Angular distributions for the elastic scattering of 29-Mev He/sup 3/ particles by C, F, S, and Br are obtained using a photographic-plate technique. Absolute differential cross sections in the center-of-mass system are given in the angular range 14 to 80 deg . The experimental results are analyzed in terms of the optical model of the interaction, and the best-fit parameters of this model are obtained. The results of optical-model analyses of 29-Mev elastic scattering data for a number of elements are discussed. Inelastic scattering and (He/sup 3/,He/sup 4/) and (He/sup 3/,d) reactions are observed for C, and some of the experimental angular distributions obtained are compared with the Butier planewave direct-interaction model.
