INVESTIGATION OF COULOMB EXCITATION OF THE FIRST Mo$sup 92$ LEVEL (in Russian)

Journal Article · · Zh. Eksperim. i Teor. Fiz.
OSTI ID:4727762
The Mo/sup 92/ nucleus has a closed neutron shell, and therefore the Coulomb excitation cross section is smail and the background gamma radiation due to nuclear reactions on light impurities makes it difficult to observe Coulomb excitation of Mo/sup 92/. The gamma radiation background was diminished by recording coincidences between inelastically scattered bombarded particles and gamma quanta emitted in the de-activation of the first excited state. The target enriched with Mo/sup 92/ isotopes was irradiated with 40-Mev N/ sup 14/ ions accelerated in a cyclotron. The scattered ions were recorded with help of pn silicon detectors. The energy of the first Mo/sup 92/ level was found to be 1.52 plus or minus 0.03 Mev and the reduced transition probability 0.19 plus or minus 0.08. (auth)
