Efforts to bring Ca/sup 47/ into routine medical use are reviewed. Surveys were made on the need for the isotope, cost of production, and medical possibilities, The importance attached to Ca/sup 47/ is due to the special properties of the isotope, which make it the most valuable tool for many calcium studies by the radioactive tracer method.
