DIFFERENCES IN THE APPEARANCE OF LYMPHOID TUMORS IN SPONTANEOUSLY RESISTANT MICE AFTER X IRRADIATION WITH OR WITHOUT ASSOCIATION OF A HOMOLOGOUS LEUKEMIC EXTRACT (in French)

Journal Article · · Compt. Rend. Soc. Biol.
OSTI ID:4721852
Whole-body x irradiation at 300 r of mice of the XLII strain at various ages does not provoke the development of lymphomatoses. On the contrary, the injection of a homologous leukemic extract after irradiation causes lymphoid tumors in refractory animals. The young mice are more sensitive than the adults. These results confirm the important role of the mouse iineage in studies of this type. The mechanism of the action of the leukemic extract associated with irradiation still remains to be explained.
