A considerable increase of tryptamine, serotonin, bufotenin, histamine, dopamin, 1-noradrenalin, and adrenalin, which is dose-dependent, was observed in the urine and blood of rats 21 and 9 days, respectively, after a single total- body irradiation with 400, 600, and 800 r, using a fluorescence-spectrophotometer. The increase of the amines and the radiation syndrome developed gradually and simultaneously. (auth)
