DETERMINATION OF OXYGEN IN GALLIUM ARSENIDE BY NEUTRON ACTIVATION ANALYSIS

Neutron activation of O in Ga arsenide was carried out using the O/sup 16/(T,n)F/sup 18/ reaction with the tritons being produced by the Li/sup 6/ (n,T)He/sup 4/ reaction. The maximum sensitivity of the method is about 7 x 10/ sup -9/ g of O in Ga arsenide, representing 5 atomic ppm in the samples used. The actual bulk concentration in the GaAs samples used was 72 450 deg C in a 18 atomic ppm. (auth)
