INFLUENCE OF ACIDOPHILUS MILK ON YOUNG OF GUINEA-PIGS IRRADIATED WITH X- RAYS

Journal Article · · Bull. Sci. Conseil Acad. RPF Yougoslavie
OSTI ID:4716438
The offspring of guinea pigs maintained on acidophilus milk after irradiation in infancy and mated to non-irradiated pigs were normal and grew well. The offspring of irradiated litter mates maintained on normal diets included many abnormal young that exhibited impaired growth. Results indicate that the folic and folinic acids in acidophilus milk may protect the gonads against radiation. (C.H.)
