EFFECT OF ACIDOPHILUS MILK ON GUINEA-PIGS EXPOSED TO X-RAYS

Journal Article · · Bull. Sci., Conseil Acad. RPF Yougoslavie
OSTI ID:4662233
Irradiated suckling guinea pigs maintained on a diet of acidophilus milk developed better and gained weight more rapidly than controls. It is pointed out that acidophilus milk contains considerable amounts of folic and folinic acid and that both these acids belong to the group of Bcomplex vitamins. The role of these vitamins in the protection of cells against radiation injury is discussed. (C.H.)
