THE INFLUENCE OF PRELIMINARY VACCINATION WITH LIVE ANTIPLAGUE EB VACCINE ON THE RADIORESISTANCE OF ANIMALS (in Russian)

Experiments were carried out on albino mice, guinea pigs, and rabbits involving preliminary introduction of different doses of live antiplague EB vaccine before lethal and sublethal irradiation. The live antiplague EB vaccine exerted an aggravating effect on the course of radiation sickness in albino mice and rabbits. The administration of large doses of the ED vaccine prior to irradiation increases the lethality of animals and shortens the average life expectation. Such an effect of the EB vaccine on the radioresistance of animals is due, apparently, to the presence of residual toxicity of the EB strain. (auth)
