AN INVESTIGATION OF THE EFFECT OF METALLIC ADDITIONS UPON THE OXIDATION RESISTANCE OF TITANIUM-MODIFIED NbAl$sub 3$. Quarterly Progress Report No. 2, December 1, 1962-February 28, 1963

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4694114
The air-- oxidation resistance of titanium-modified NbAl/sub 3/ with alloy additions of tin was investigated. Thermogravimetric determinations of the weight gain/cm/sup 2/ in air over a 24-hr period were made on arc-melted alloys at 760 to 1360 deg C. Phase equilibria studies of the alloys after homogenization and isothermal annealing at 1300 and 1000 deg C are also being conducted to supplement the oxidation studies. Oxidation data for two tin-addition alloys are presented. (auth)
