INSTALLATION WITH A NUCLEAR REACTOR COOLED BY A BOILING LIQUID AND PROCESS FOR THE OPERATION OF SUCH AN INSTALLATION

Patent ·
OSTI ID:4685197
An installation with a nuclear reactor through which a boiling liquid circulates comprises a vapor separating device into which enters the vapor-liquid mixture leaving the reactor. The separated vapor is led to the place of its utilization, while the separated liquid is refed to the reactor. A design is given in which the latter liquid flows through two parallelly connected branches of the primary circuit before it enters the reactor; the first branch comprising heat exchange means, while the second one forms a bypass. Each of the branches is provided with means for controlling the relative liquid fiow quantities in them in order to regulate the temperature of the liquid to be fed to the reactor. (IIB)
