A device for measuring the temperatures of fuel elements in reactor channels is patented. The coolant flowing through the channels must have a low electrical conductance. Electrical contacts are mounted on the wall of the channel. The fuel element is oriented as it is moved into operating position so that contacts on the fuel element, which connect to a temperature-sensitive device, engage the contacts on the channel wall. In this way, trailing leads through the charge tubes are avoided. The design of the guides to orient the fuel elements is described. (M.P.G.)
