TRANSFER OF Cd$sup 115$ ACROSS THE PERICARDIUM OF DOGS

Journal Article · · Am. Heart.

Transfer of a radioisotope of cadmium, essential for function of some enzymes, was studied after installation of the isotope into the pericardial cavity (5.5 mg/ml in Ringer's solution). The mean rate of transfer was 0.176 mu g/cm/sup 2//min. This represents a daily bidirectional rate of transfer of approximates 150 mg for the dog. The rate is slower than that previously found for D/sub 2/O, H/sup 3/, Cl/sup 36/, Na/sup 22/, or Mg/sup (BBB)
