ABS>The design of a liquid-moderated reactor, which has a core particularly suited to the replacement or rearrangement of fuel, is patented. The reactor consists of a container for the liquid moderator and a means for locating a plurality of frames in parallel planes within the container. The frames can releasably hold fuel elements and are guided vertically during charging and discharging by extension rods. The frames are locked into position in the container and cannot be removed before the extension rods are inserted. The reactor container has a slotted lid, which slides over the top of the container until a slot coincides with a selected frame. (M.P.G.)
