EFFECTS OF *beta/-AMINOETHYLISOTHIOUREA (AET) ON MUTATIONS INDUCED IN MICE BY X RAYS. II. DECREASE OF THE RATE OF DOMINANT LETHALITY INDUCED IN SPERMATOZOIDS IRRADIATED WITH HIGH DOSES OF X RAys (in French)

ABS>In a preceding study it was shown that the dibromohydrate of AET, injected intraperitoneally, does not increase the number of spontaneous lethals of non-irradiated mouse spermatozoids and does not decrease the number of dominant lethal mutants induced by irradiation of mouse spermatozoids with 400 r of x rays. The study was extended to x-ray doses of 1200 r. The results show that although AET reduces the lethal mutants induced in spermatozoids, the degree of protection offered by this product is, however, much less than that offered to other radiosensitive organs as the intestine. The protection is also less than that given by cysteamine. (J.S.R.)
