In the operating history of the Palo Verde nuclear generating station (PVNGS), 1995 was the most successful year. Unit capacity factors exceeded 80%, and PVNGS achieved its first Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO) 1 rating. This performance can be attributed, to some extent, to an improving self-assessment culture and attitude at PVNGS.
