Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station Setpoint Program
A setpoint program has been established for the Palo Verde nuclear generating station (PVNGS) to reconstitute instrumentation and control (I&C) system setpoint design bases and to correct deficiencies identified in past US Nuclear Regulatory Commission inspections and self-evaluations. Deficiencies have been found in both instrument setpoint and channel uncertainty calculations and in the conduct of I&C surveillance testing activities. The setpoint program is designed to ensure a consistent and industry-proven method for the development of applicable design criteria, the establishment and documentation of system setpoints, the performance of appropriate uncertainty calculations, setpoint and channel uncertainty verification, and setpoint implementation in unit operating procedures.
