Determination of digoxin in plasma by radioimmunoassay

Journal Article · · J. Oslo City Hosp., v. 23, no. 2, pp. 35-45

During a study of the antiserum and the recommended method of a test kit for the determination of digoxin in plasma (Lanoxitest), it was found that the method could be improved by the introduction of a few moditications. The modified method has a sensitivity better than 0.25 ng/ml, a precision within assay of 6.3%, between assay 8.7%, and a recovery of 93 to 103%. In a group of l28 patients on a maintenance dosage of digoxin, 107 (84%) had plasma values below 2.50 ng/ml. The mean plasma value of eight digoxin intoxicated patients was 3.22 ng/ml. (auth)
