Diffusion coefficient of trivalent uranium ions in fused alkali-metal chlorides (in Russian)

The diffusion coefficient of trivaslent U ions in fused chlorides of Na, K, Rb, and Cs was measured in the temperature interval from 941 to 1208 deg K by the chronopotentiometric method. It was established that the diffusion rate of the trivalent U increases with increase of the temperature and decreases in the series from NaCl to CsCl at equal tempertures. The substantial effect of complex formation, which determines the contribution of the migration diffusion mechanism in the general transfer process, affects the diffision rats. The sizes of the diffusion coefficient calculated using empirical corrections in complex formation agree satisfactorily with experimental data. (tr-auth)
