From 3rd Health Physics Society midyear topical symposium; Los Angeles, California, USA (29 Jan 1969). See CONF-690103P1. In house activities of applied health physics programs are considered. Topics discussed are hazard potential of radioactive material, radioisotopes, and accelerator beams; facility design for radiation shielding, ventilation and other needs; assistance availability; degree of regulatory latitude; and specific programs for the radiation safety of a 5 MW modified swimming pool reactor, kilocurie plant irradiation cells, kilocurie field source, x-ray equipment, a 48-patient hospital, and many experimenters using microcurie to millicurie quantities of radioisotopes, the High Flux Beam Reactor, and the Alternating Gradient Synchrotron.
