From 3rd Health Physics Society midyear topical symposium; Los Angeles, California, USA (29 Jan 1969). See CONF-690103P1. Operational monitoring, as broadly conceived, is concerned with the continuing assessment of the quality of a Health Physics program. With this in mind, the broader aspects of operational monitoring in a hospital situation are described. Topics discussed include program philosophy and administration; employee and patient monitoring; basic equipment needs, radiation source inventory and control, etc. Those problems attendant to patient monitoring and protection with regard to the use of radiopharmaceuticals are emphasized.
