Applications and technique for using C/sup 13/ and C/sup 14/ in metabolism studies are reviewed. the specific examples of studies of carbohydrate metabolism using C/sup 14/-glucose and C/sup 14/-acetic acid, and of lipid metabolism using C/sup 14/acetic acid and of cholesterol metabolism using C/sup 14/mevalonic acid are discussed.
