PHOTODISINTEGRATION OF HELIUM. I

The photodisintegration of helium was studied with a cloud chumber located in a magnetic field and synchronized with a 170 Mev bremsstrahlung beam. The yields of the different photonuclear reactions on helium were determined. The energy dependence of the cross section and the angular ddstributions of the protons and the tritons were measured for the reaction He/sup 4/( gamma ,p)H/sup 3/. The results are compared with data obtained in other investigations and with theoretical predictions. (auth)
