The properties of four types of autoradiographic emulsions (Kodak Ar 10 stripping film, Kodak NTB sheet film, Agfa K 102 stripping film, and Agfa K 2 pouring emulsion) were examined with yeast cells and labeled with the isotopes P/ sup 32/, S/sup 35/, and C/sup 14/. The microbe preparations were prcduced by the spray method and were autoradiographed in the usual manner. The autoradiograms were evaluated by means of the cross-counting'' method. It was found that the Kodak and Agfa Wolfen emulsions are practically identical in regard to sensitivity, but that the Kodak emulsions are superior to Agfa in resolving power. (auth)
