ABSOLUTE BLACKENING CURVES OF MASS SPECTROGRAPHIC PHOTOMATERIALS FOR POSITIVE IONS

Absolute blackening curves for ions of constant energy (9 kev) were measured for five gelatin-poor, commerclal emulsions (Ilford Ql, Q2, and Q3 plates, Eastman Kodak SWR-film, and the Agfa(Wolfen)-Schumann plates). The ion masses were in the range from 2 to 40. The experimental conditions are given, and some of the curves obtained are shown as examples. The mass dependence of the sensltivity was measured for the Ilford Ql plates. (J.S.R.)
