THE SCHWARZSCHILD EXPONENT OF ILFORD Q PLATES FOR IONS OF MEDIUM MASS (in German)

The Schwarzschild exponent of Ilford Q1, Q2, and Q3 plates was measured in the region of primary darkening with consideration of the sensitivity fluctuations along the plate for the rare gas monovalent ions Ne/sup 22/, Ar/sup 36/, Kr/sup 82/, and Kr/sup 86/ at an energy of 30 kev. The current density and exposure time were varied by 3.5 powers of ten. For exposure time of 0.07 to 240 sec the Sohwarzschild exponent was determined to be P = 1.014 plus or minus 0.007 for Q1 plates, P = 1.011 plus or minus 0.008 for Q2 plates, and P = 1.004 plus or minus 0.007 for Q3 plates.
