A NEW ISOTOPE OF HAFNIUM Hf$sup 18$$sup 3$ (in Spanish)

Journal Article · · Publs. com. nacl. energia atomica (Buenos Aires) Ser. quim.
OSTI ID:4257491

Fast neutron bombardments on W show a 64 the J-57 engin 3 min half life in the hafnium fraction. The maximum BETA energy of this nuclide is about 1.4 Mev and its total disintegration energy Q/sub BETA -/, about 2.2 Mev. This value agrees with the predicted Q/sub BETA -/ value for Hf/sup 183/. The mass number is confirmed by the amount of the radioactive Ta/sup 183/ formed after decay of the hafnium. The reported 10-minute half life for Ta/sub 183/ is confirmed. (auth)
