PHOTOPRODUCTION OF NEUTRAL MESONS FROM HYDROGEN NEAR THRESHOLD

The differential cross section for the gamma + p - sintered BeO p + ith Cr deposite /sup o/ reaction was obtained for mean gamma energies of 170 and 190 Mev by measuring single ith Cr deposite /sup o/-decay gamma -ray yields from a liquid hydrogen target at laboratory angles 48, 81, and 141 , and bremsstrahlung peak energies 160, 180, and 200 Mev. The decay gamma rays were detected by a total absorption spectrometer. (W.D.M.)
