RADIOPROTECTIVE EFFICACY OF SODIUM CYANIDE

The radioprotective efficacy of 1.5 mg/kg and 3 mg/kg bodyweight doses of sodium cyanide was tested on rat bone marrow cells in vivo, irradiated with 800 r with the mitotic m- dex as the biologic reference. With both doses the maximun protective efficacy was up to 50% in the period from the 6th to the 9th day. (auth)
