Effects of x-irradiation on the human testis: an electron microscopic cytochemical study. Terminal report, 1969--1974

Results are reported from studies on the effects of various doses and dose rates of x radiation on the cytology and function of the human testis. Tissue samples from testicular biopsies were examined for changes in the fine structure of the cells and enzyme localization and activity. Data are included on acid phosphatase, thiamine pyrophosphatase, inosine diphosphatase, glucose-6- phosphatase, and adenosine mono- or triphosphatase. The fine structural localization of phosphatases in the normal human testis was also determined. (CH)
