A DEVICE FOR INTRAPERITONEAL (INTRAPLEURAL) APPLICATION OF COLLOIDAL RADIOGOLD ($sup 198$Au) (in German)

Journal Article · · Atompraxis (West Germany) Incorporated in Kerntechnik
OSTI ID:4150240
A simple device for intraperitoneal or intrapleural application of colloidal radiogold is described. Radiation protection during the infusion of Au/ sup 198/ is afforded by a special double-walled tube, with a filling of tiny lead pellets in between the walls. The attenuation coefficient mu was determined for three different pellet sizes in relation to gamma energies of 0.1 to 3 Mev, as well as the percentual gamma-radiation absorption of the radiogold in relation to wall thickness.
