MONITORING SCANNING VALVE, 48 PORT (Engineering Materials)

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4129814
This package contains 10 drawings. The sample-scanning valve or fluid switch, monitors fuel-coolant streams for radioactivity. This valve samples 48 input lines in sequence. The system operates at 600 deg F and at a pressure of 1,500 psig. Rapid changes in temperature have no adverse effect on operation. The main body of the apparatus is constructed of a 10-in., 900-lb blind flange and a 10-in., 900-lb weld-neck flange and associated piping. Forty-eight input and 2 output sample lines enter through the blind flange and exit to a port block. A port selector is driven in 15 deg steps by a stepping meter which diverts two sample streams at a time through two outlet ports. (F.S.)
