DISTRIBUTION OF BROMIDE IN MICE. AN AUTORADIOGRAPHIC STUDY WITH Br$sup 8$$sup 2$

Journal Article · · Intern. J. Appl. Radiation and Isotopes
The distribution of Br/sup 82/ in entire mouse cadavers was studied autoradiographically at various intervals after intravenous injection. The concentration of Br/sup 82/ in the organs of fully developed foetuses was compared with that in their dams. Bromine-82 levels in various tissues were determined quantitatively on autoradiograms and histological sections. Tissue levels are expressed as percentages of the blood level. The results are compared with those obtained for other halogens. Special attention is given the stomach, central nervous system, salivary glands, and thyroid glands. Among other clinical and experimental appli cations of Br/sup 82/, measurement of the extracellular space and studies of gastric secretion are discussed. (auth)
