NEW NUCLEIDE ACTINIUM-231

Journal Article · · Nuclear Phys.
A new nuclide Ac/sup 231/, was identified from the reaction of Th/sup 232/( gamma ,p)Ac/sup 231/ induced by the 25-Mev bremsstrahlung. The activity was chemically separated from fission products with the aid of a recoil method. The half life of this new isotope was found to be T/sub 1/2/, = l5 plus or minus 1 min and the end-point energy of the BETA ray was E/sub BETA / = 2.1 plus or minus 0.1 Mev. Several weak gamma rays were also observed. (auth)
