DETECTION OF MOLYBDENUM AS PYRO-CATECHOL-PYRIDINE COMPLEX (in Russian)

A molybdenum-pyrocatechol complex compound interacts with pyridine under certain conditions forming a triple pyrocatechol- pyridine- molybdenum complex, which can be extracted with chloroform or methylene chloride. The optimum pH value of the aqueous phase is 4.5. The reaction was used for the development of a selective method for molybdenum detection. (auth)
