The 2 Mev microtron having 8 orbits, designed, built, and put into operation is described. Mean current intensities of 5 x 10/sup -//sup 9/ amp with peaks of 1-/sup -//sup 5/ amp are obtained on the last orbits, 50% of which can be brought from the accelerator into the laboratory. (auth)
