A study of beta and gamma emission from cryogenically oriented paramagnetic nuclei is presented. Investigations are made of the beta /sup +/ emission of Co/sup 5//sup 8/ and Mr/sup 5//sup 2/, the beta /sup -/ and gamma emissions of Ho/sup 1//sup 6//sup 1//sup m/, and the beta /sup -/ emissions of Tb/sup 1//sup 6//sup 1/. The cryogenic methods and apparatus are described. (T.F.H.)
