Using a classical Heisenberg model with anisotropic nearest-neighbor superexchange and uniaxial anisotropy, I investigate the magnetic order of the transition metals on the B sites in AMn_1-xFe_xO₃(A=La, Nd; x=[0,1]) with Monte Carlo methods. Magnetic parameters are extracted from preexisting experimental data when available and otherwise estimated with calculations. Superexchange energies are compared to density functional theory and anisotropy energies to ligand field theory, and the potential for doping-induced strain affecting these parameters is considered. Field-induced polarization rotation and phase transitions in $0.70 Pb (M g_{1 / 3} N b_{2 / 3}) O_{3} - 0.30 PbTi O_{3}$ piezoceramics observed by in situ high-energy x-ray scattering

Changes to the crystal structure of 0.70Pb(Mg_1/3Nb_2/3)O₃–0.30PbTiO₃ (PMN-0.30PT) piezoceramic under application of electric fields at the long-range and local scale are revealed by in situ high-energy x-ray diffraction (XRD) and pair-distribution function (PDF) analyses, respectively. The crystal structure of unpoled samples is identified as monoclinic Cm at both the long-range and local scale. In situ XRD results suggest that field-induced polarization rotation and phase transitions occur at specific field strengths. Doping dependence of the magnitude of fluctuating spin moments in the normal state of the pnictide superconductor $Sr {(F e_{1 - x} C o_{x})}_{2} A s_{2}$ inferred from photoemission spectroscopy

We report systematic temperature- and doping-dependent measurements of the Fe 3s core-level photoemission spectra in the normal state of superconducting Sr(Fe_1-xCo_x)₂As₂. The analysis of the Fe 3s spectrum provides an element-specific determination of the mean value of the magnitude of the Fe spin moment measured on the fast (10^-16-10^-15s) timescale of the photoemission process. The data reveal the ubiquitous presence in the normal state of Fe spin moments with magnitude fluctuating on short timescales.
