Materials and design technology -- 1995. PD-Volume 71

Conference ·
OSTI ID:86246

Composite materials, their micromechanics, macromechanics, manufacturing, fabrication, design, failure, and applications continues to be the strong focal point of the symposium. In this year`s symposium two major sessions containing over sixteen research papers are devoted to these very aspects of the composite technology. However, the symposium papers also cover such topics as cold reliability of alloys, silicon microimplants, their fabrication and biocompatibility, powder metallurgy, and joining of metal powder medium by electromagnetic energy. Another major session in the symposium contains over eight papers devoted to various aspects of design and analysis. The result is a rich, interesting, and much needed interaction of the different elements of material science, mechanics, structural analysis, and numerical simulation techniques. Separate abstracts were prepared for 26 papers in this book.
