The purpose of the symposium was not only to provide an avenue for the exchange of ideas but also to educate. Composite materials continued to be one of the major emphasis of the symposium. However, symposium papers also contained topics such as steel, aluminum, powder metallurgy and plasma sprayed ceramic coatings applications. The result is a rich and interesting mixture of all elements of Material Science, Mechanics and Structural Analysis. Separate abstracts were prepared for 36 papers of this book.
